PPP/C urges voters to uplift ID cards

 

The People’s Progressive Party/Civic is urging all registered Guyanese to uplift their national identification (ID) cards which is an essential requirement for voting at the 2006 polls.

The Party’s General Secretary Donald Ramotar said at a p

ress conference today that the Party is willing to assist persons with difficulty in uplifting their ID cards.

For assistance, persons can make contact with the PPP/C Media Centre, Freedom House, Georgetown on telephone No. 231 – 7029 from 09:00 to 22:00 hrs daily.

New registrants, those who have applied for replacement of their ID cards and those who have applied for correction and change of ID cards are especially reminded to uplift their cards.

During its last media briefing held on July 27, GECOM also appealed to the approximately 10,000 Guyanese who have not uplifted their ID cards as yet to do so in order to exercise their franchise.
