PPP/C CONDEMNS PNCR-IG’S USE OF CHILDREN TO DESTROY PPP/C CAMPAIGN HANDOUTS.
Groups of activists of the People’s National Congress Reform-One Guyana (PNCR1G) were again last evening destroying posters of the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) while activists of the Alliance For Change (AFC) are defacing PPP/C posters. These groups were conducting their poster destruction exercises in Duncan Street, Campbellville, Lamaha Street, Sandy Babb Street, Newtown, Kitty and Houston/Agricola, East Bank Bank Demerara.
In many instances teams working for the PPP/C reported that posters of the PNCR1G and AFC have been pasted over those belonging to the PPP/C. This vulgar behaviour is contrary to the need for an elections campaign of civility peace and tolerance and is designed to provoke a confrontation. We have video recorded these destructive acts and have shared the photos with the media.
Meanwhile, the PPP/C unreservedly condemns the use by PNCR1G of about 12 children, ranging in ages 5-9 years, to destroy PPP/C campaign handout at the PPP/C public meeting in the vicinity of the West Ruimveldt Police Outpost, last evening.
The PPP/C calls on the city parents to resist the PNCR1G renew effort to snatch away your children and to concentrate on their safe and secure upbringing.
